Steve has been a teacher, coach and administrator in public and private schools for 35 years. He is currently in his fifth year as the Director of Athletics for the City School District of New Rochelle for which he oversees an interscholastic athletic program encompassing 76 teams and employing more than 100 coaches.
Steve is a past-president of the New York State Athletic Administrators Association and is currently the Association’s chairperson for leadership training, and is a member of the national faculty for the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Steve has also presented workshops for coaches and athletic directors at the local, state and national levels on enhancing a positive culture in an athletic program and the wellness of the student-athlete.
Steve is an adjunct faculty at New York University’s Tisch Institute for Sport Management and serves on the board of NYU’s youth sports initiative.
Steve received his Bachelor’s degree from Clark University and a Master’s degree from Western Illinois University and his certification in administration and supervision from Manhattan College. He has earned the certificate of a Certified Master Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. He is also the recipient of the NIAAA’s “Distinguished Service Award”.
